NIA Joins Michiana Five for the Homeless to Protest Government

Northern Indiana Atheists was proud to stand side-by-side with Michiana Five for the Homeless at their protests demanding change, raising awareness, and rallying the community. Our hands were freezing from standing in the cold for just one hour at a time, so imagine having nowhere to go or being turned away from a shelter and having to sleep outside all night.

Our first protest was at the County-City building in South Bend, Indiana demanding that Mayor Pete Buttigieg provide a permanent shelter once and for all. And for weather amnesty to start no later than November 1st.

The second protest was at the City Hall in Goshen, Indiana. With more than 50 tents in area woods and more scattered in other areas, we demanded Mayor Jeremy Stutsman supply shelter for our homeless.

Thank you to everyone who came to the "Rally For The Homeless" in South Bend and Goshen. We were happy to contribute protest signs, our voices, and support.
